On June 8th, Larry and I celebrated our 8-year wedding anniversary! Then this August we celebrated our "dating" anniversary of 10 years! Yay for a whole decade together!
Late June, we took a weekend trip to Atlanta to visit Amy's dad and family. We had a fun filled weekend! We went to a Braves' game, a puppet show, lunch at Taco Mac, cookout and pool party, and the Georgia Aquarium! It's amazing how much you can pack into one weekend. We enjoyed every minute though!
In July, I traveled to Lexington, KY with the girls to meet up with my mom and stepsister Jen for the first annual Children's Ministry Expo. We stayed two nights at the Hilton Hotel and enjoyed both the expo and visiting a new city. There were many great resources and side shows that kept us very entertained. Plus, we were able to swim at the hotel pool a few times. We all had a great time and look forward to doing that again in the future.
The last full week of July, Larry and I took the girls on a week-long vacation to the beautiful state of Maine! Because it is a 16-17 hours drive, we had to break it up into 2 days both there and back. On the way up, we stopped in Philadelphia and had dinner with Larry's dad. It was great to see him and spend a couple hours at a local park catching up. That night we drove closer to NYC and stayed about 30 minutes outside Manhattan. The next day we drove right through the city and what an experience! We were smart to drive through on an early Sunday morning- because there was absolutely no traffic. It was fun to see all the tall buildings and many landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty.
Later that day we met up with my mom and stepdad, plus my stepsisters Heather and Jen at our family cabins in Wells, Maine. The whole week was really relaxing and enjoyable. We spent a couple days at the beach, took a day trip to Camden to see my great-Aunt Skip, lots of shopping, a campfire with smores, plus a day at Ogunquit to ride on a lobster boat! Friday morning, Larry and I went on a breakfast date to the Maine Diner. I will post a link to our vacation pictures at the top of this page. We left early Saturday morning and drove halfway to Harrisburg. Saturday evening we went to Hershey's Chocolate World. Yum! Then finished our trip on Sunday. The summer has flown by, but I'm really looking forward to cooler temperatures. It has been a very hot summer! We have had over 60 days of 90+ degree temps- where the average for this area is only 30 days. Some days our A/C has a hard time keeping the house cool. I've enjoyed keeping busy as it has made these last few months of my pregnancy more enjoyable! 5 weeks left!
